This disk contains the base game + 20 updates from over the years.
So if the game ever goes offline and you want to enjoy it on PS5, you'll have a decent amount of base content to enjoy.
The disk was released in Oct 2022, and the 20th update was Outlaws (3.85).

This game has become very good. I cannot believe people are complaining at $25 and will then say a mediocre game for $40 is a great price because it's "newer". I will gladly pay $25 for a game with numerous years of improvements over a more expensive new game

I think he paid enough. He offered continued development past its time. Let the guy rest. How much more can he offer before satisfaction? I think he was new and walked into a situation he was feeling out. I can see the passion and while money was a factor I think he proved that he was a gamer at heart and wanted to deliver a vision.

The game is not for everyone, it relies a little bit on one's imagination. You can see it as it is, or how it can help oneself catalyze imagination. It's tapping into "the raven", the unknown. But if u figured it's just random images piecing stuff together, it's hard to enjoy. This all depends on how one wishes to use the information.

It's a lot of money for such an old game. But there's enough content there to warrant $25 in my opinion.

Way better deal than a $25 4K Blu-ray that y'all keep thumbing up on here

Good game, but I think $10-$15 is more worthy given how old this game is

I have the PS4 version but never had an opportunity to play it much. Now that I have a PS5 is the PS4 version with the (presumably) free updates the same as this version?

Your opinion is as valid as anyone's, but for those that can get into it, it's one of the top 5 games from last gen.

This is a dope game I wish I would have played as soon as I got it rather than let it sit for so long. Also they need to bring it out for the iPad already.

Just here to say this game is great, and the Hello Games No Man's Sky story is one of the best comeback stories in recent history.

I was reluctant to try the game after the horror stories. But I dove into the game last year and I liked it pretty instantly. It's very clear HG care about the game experience and are doing their best to improve the game along the way. Btw, the PS5 version is probably better than the PC version. I haven't played the PC version in months but just the fact that there is no lag going from atmo to space in PS5 makes it a significantly better experience. But I do like playing the PC version with an ultrawide 49" monitor though!

I like this game because it is what I like; a chill, building and exploring game with sci-fi and philosophical stuff mixed in. I guess my critiques would be that the ships / flying is very simplistic and you can't customize too much - just gotta find a ship / configuration of features and colors you like among all the stars and galaxies you explore and you can buy it from the NPC pilot who owns it. That can be challenging given the scope of the game and the amount of time you have to put in to find the perfect ship (even with NMS Coordinate Exchange which is a must-use community on R for later stage players). There are no interiors to vehicles which is a bit of a bummer - it would be cool to have a space RV for example. I'm unsure how they would ever bring that particular feature, so I wouldn't necessarily hold my breath - even though HG often adds to the game.

The land vehicles are atrociously slow but I believe the reason for this has more to do with draw distance / speed / hardware / software limitations, so if you go too fast you will catch up to undrawn, unspawned items and land features which may mess up your experience. It's probably only a matter of time before they can improve this through code or eventually new generation hardware, but by then we may be looking at NMS 2.0. So again, not holding my breath - that's a lot of work.

I really like that you can actually tailor the difficulty by creating a custom game and choose what resources would be easier or free to attain. I would recommend being at or close to normal difficulty level so that it doesn't get boring for later stages, but it can be customized as needed. Just this feature alone makes NMS a more relaxing, casual game rather than a stressful, tense game.
