I'm an oled whore. 4 oleds around the house. Kids broke the 77" sony in our bedroom so I decided to give this Hisense a try at $899 in December. It's so good. Shockingly good. Not oled but to the point where I barely care about the difference. Colors are excellent and blacks are very close to true black. Gaming features works very well with less fuss needed than LG oleds. Very happy to have this and saved a lot vs oled.

Or back in the real world there are uneducated fools that just buy based on brand name, and keep buying the garbage that Samsung, LG, and Sony put out in the budget and mid-tier levels. They aren't even close to the same level that Hisense and TCL are putting out at the same value price points. The big 3 only make quality sets at the high end of the market now, they don't even attempt to compete spec-wise in the mid-range because all the Samsung/Sony/LG fanboys talk just like you.

Remember, back in the day people said the exact same garbage about Sony/Sammy/LG that you are saying now. Back then they innovated in the budget space and left the "big brands" in the dust. Now they are the big brands being left in the dust.

Educate yourself instead of continuing to be what you are crying about... A shill.

Costco does NOT have lifetime returns on TV's. Only 90 days for electronics and major appliances.

The 55 and 65 are VA panels which means they will have poor viewing angles. There have been debates in the comments section since the TV came out about the 75" being a IPS Pro panel with great viewing angles. Others have commented its a VA panel. Haven't seen a definitive answer but also haven't researched more since black Friday.

I've debated getting this TV for my parents living room where good viewing angles are a must.

I have very minimal color shift on my u75k so its likely the ADS-pro panel. Blooming is evident in grey backgrounds with white areas. The backlight zones can't turn down enough in those instances to crush the blooming effect. That being said in most dark movie scenes you won't notice this as the entire scene will be darker.

Hisense confirmed the 75" is IPS which would give great viewing angles. There is some conflicting info online though. Some think it's the ads pro panel that is in the U8

2 Years ago I got a 75" LG 120hz 2.1hdmi 4k (thats the features I wanted) and i love the huge screen, love the frame rate, but the interface is horrible and out of the box configuaration makes half the stuff not work. 1080p is blurry from pc but 4k is super sharp. 4k is literally 1080p x 4 so hows that work? I have spent 2 years trying to figure out weird things like that and as a result cant recommend an LG non-oled. everybody seems big on this one being sensibly configured out of the box and im super jealous reading the thread. just my two cents. its a tough choice I had to make too... same exact price for LG at costco 2 years ago.

I bought this in 65" for $699.99 in June last year from Costco during a similar promotion. I did a lot of TV research before buying this. At that time, it was the best mid-range 65" TV for <$700. [rtings.com]. The picture quality is pretty good for sports/video games.

My other TV is an oled LG G1 in my darkened movie room. This U7 doesn't compare well to that G1 (true black for that infinite contrast ratio and superior color accuracy), but that's a high-end TV(~$2k when I bought it).

If you're going to watch movies or TV with dark scenes on the U7, I highly recommend that you watch with the Google TV OS apps or a streaming device that supports Dolby Vision. Go to picture quality and change the picture preset to Dolby Vision Movie Mode to get the black/color accuracy to look better.

A little hesitant because Hisense doesn't have great brand reputation, and a little concerned with Data/privacy, but I've been pretty satisfied with it for the last 6 months. Access to the google play store via the Google TV OS is really nice if you have pay for VPN (like Nord or Express) for watching region-locked content (i.e. Netflix/Fox Sports). It also has built-in airplay.

What's the regular price? Costco just shows $899 without referencing the regular price.

Read that somewhere that U7K series isn't well calibrated from the factory and takes some fiddling around the settings out of the box to get the picture and colors look right, any use experience on that?
