Sorry if this is a dumb question, is this dell's answer to the lg gram? I know it is a pound or so heavier. I need a laptop with a longish battery life that can do light gaming (such as total war rome 2) for long flights. TIA

This is a decent deal but a better one is the Asus laptop on here that has better specs at a similar price.

Basic Specs: 15.6" OLED @120hz
Intel Core i9-13900H
NVIDIA RTX3050 6GB
16GB Memory
1TB SSD
$780 open box or $999 new.

No, this is not equivalent to Lg Gram 16. This is more or less equivalent to HP pavilion Plus 15 series.

Yes. There are plenty of laptops with an RTX 4050 for $800 or less.

Why would they use an old 2050 GPU in a current laptop?

Not every laptop with a GPU is gaming laptop and this is not at all. This is general purpose everyday laptop with some Graphics horse power to support related works.

And to your assumption of this is costly for the GPU, the XPS 15 with the RTX 4050 costs over $1500, pretty high for a RTX 4050 laptop, right? Then why that is still considered one of the best Windows Laptop? The answer is simple, that ois not designed for gaming.

RTX 2050 is a stripped down RTX 3050, not from original RTX 2000 (Turning) series.

Can't comment on the machine itself but it seems like a good deal as I've been looking at the sister machine (Vostro 16) which basically has a different keyboard and integrated graphics for $20 less.

Yes, might as well get an AMD Ryzen notebook with 780M integrated graphics at that point. Not that it'll run much faster but it will run cooler since it's built on a drastically newer 4nm process. And there are deals posted periodically on systems based around these chips at lower price points.

Got the 2 in 1 Inspiron with the same processor . The fan noise is horrible and it runs every few minutes regardless of the task load … even casual browsing triggers the fan ..
