I've purchased four trees from them in the past year. Two are dead, one never got even an inch taller, and one is supposed to flower and has not.
That said, the other ~25 flowers trees and shrubs we put in are doing great. I got those from Walmart year end clearance for $3 each.
Walmart roses never survived in my garden. But Costco and David Austin did. My wife picked some tulips from Walmart and we'll see next spring. I bought peach trees from this web and the deer destroyed one completely and the other was close to death but it survived and was recovering
Interesting. I ordered a crepe Myrtle and clematis back in 2022. Both are thriving and have grown nicely. Key was regular watering in year one. Haven't ordered since. Have things changed or is this historical?
The website says that the discount code has reached its limit. Personally I would rather overpay over at Stark Bros… An apple tree they sent me died, and they sent another one no questions asked other than pictures.
Tale as old as time, and universal no matter what product we're talking about.
If you bought a tree and it died, $100 for a stick, are you going to go online and complain?
If you ordered a tree and it's thriving a year later, are you thinking about going to BBB to give them a great review?
it is what it is, and there's a lot going on when it comes to growing trees and surviving extreme cold and heat.
Personally, I ordered a Peter's Honey Fig from them last year, and it's still alive. I followed the included instructions and put in the ground about 15 minutes after it was delivered.
I see lots of complaints but no alternative suggestions.
Can anyone recommend a source for banana trees for Zone 7? Plenty of nights below freezing but rarely 10F or below.
And yes, I know Walmart, Lowes, HD all sell trees but they are rarely regionally appropriate.
I think most banana trees will die back pretty hard in zone 7. I'm 7B and while some do okay, they have a lot of regrouping every year to do.
I have a meyer lemon and two plums I got on sale from FGT. They are generally high priced but honestly the plums are doing very well at about a year and a half in and they were larger than most other bare root types I've seen.
That said generally speaking I think Stark Bros is a better value, and you can normally get decent fig trees at Lowes very inexpensively.

They used to pay a lot for commercials, and maybe this is why it is a high price.
