How does this differ from the Traditional Pro IV models at GC?
(The gold top model is back to $399 at Musician's Friend, FWIW.)

Someone posted this question to the Q&A on Musician's Friend, and it looks like this one has upgraded cosmetics and an ebony fingerboard (but otherwise is basically the same guitar as the Trad Pro IV)

I LOVE ebony fretboards!! i you look closely you can usually see some of the beautful grain .
Works great with any darker color, but not so good with brightly painted guitars.

Anyway this is a cool deal . what held me up from buying an epiphone LP in the past was that dumb headstock with several unecessary points on each side of the head. However, now that they have a headstock that isn't so fugly, I'll be inclined to pick up a few of these epiphones, just to compare to my gibson

It's been at this price for a couple of weeks, and on and off before that. I almost pulled the trigger yesterday but found a white IBG Epiphone Les Paul Custom locally for $400 so grabbed that instead. But this guitar would be really nice for the price. I saw a picture of a guy that replaced all the hardware with nickel hardware and it looked killer.
