I have this camera and have been using for a few months. I've found that the image quality of the zoom isn't really great (only 1080p quality). For instance, zoom image can't read a license plate . Also, for some reason I don't get the double image on my phone simultaneously (wide angle and zoom) . Instead, the app views them as two different cameras that I need to toggle between (but I'm likely doing something wrong)

Also, for some reason the audio craps out on occasion if I'm viewing on 4k video feed (Fios connection and using a reolink nvr). Audio fine on lower quality video feed

I have five of these, it's an "okay" camera but this is a good price for a camera with these features. The white nor the IR LEDs are not very bright and night vision either in B&W or color is not very good. ONVIF is only for the 4K camera, not the 1080P. In addition the ONVIF is Reolink's own special sauce version and is not totally to specs. Two of my cameras have a problem with the presets where I constantly have to do a lens calibration to get the camera to go to the right preset position. I returned one camera to Amazon for the same reason but the new one does it as well. I have a 32 channel Hikvision NVR and since I need one window for each camera lens, I'm using 10 windows on the NVR for five cameras, (one wide view and one telephoto view), which sucks. One more thing is that the "zoom" lens has poor image quality when zoomed out.

Great camera with the dual lens. Remember there is an issue where it doesn't always return back to its monitor point.

This is an excellent camera for locations where ethernet can be run. It has two simultaneous views. One is the 8MP wide view, the other is 2MP with 6X hybrid zoom that follows objects (person, animal, or vehicle) using vertical pan, horizontal pan, and zoom. The cheaper E1 Outdoor follows objects using horizontal pan only.

The description states that IEEE802.3af PoE switch/Reolink PoE NVR is needed. Can a PoE injector be used or does it need to be one of the items mentioned?

There is a button on the app that has one rectangle white box next to the settings wheel in your home view. If you click that, it turns into a split box and shows you both cameras per recording.

Is it supposed to? If so, do you know if reolink are aware/working on a fix?

Given that both lenses are fixed on to the same part of the camera, not understanding what you are saying about only one lens following. Please can you clarify/elaborate?

So your comment got me thinking…are you saying that each lens needs its own channel? So 2 channels for each dual lens camera?

If you have this camera are you using blue iris or something else? Or is it just their own app? Sorry starting to look at nvr options maybe moving away from ring.

This camera/brand was pretty useless in an environment where there were several cars and a tree not in a direct view. Kept focusing on tree anytime wind would blow or randomly focus on parked cars when motion of any kind was triggered. Its lenses are good quality and zoom in mode is clear, but its software suite sucks, and its detection logic sucks. I can see it working well a in personal garage driveway with not a lot of activity.

Yes, 1080p, AKA 2MP. The button you need to see both views simultaneously is circled here (on my Android. I can't help with iPhone). I occasionally get choppy audio, but its rare (I'm almost always in the zoom only view).

It can be set to follow using a 2MP portion of the 8MP image, only using the hardware pant/tilt/zoom if the object approaches an edge of the 8MP image. This saves wear and tear on the hardware, though I'm unsure which provides smoother video.

As I understand it, yes. The android client treats each view as a separate channel. Not sure about their NVRs.

They have been trying but still no fix 6+ months later...
