I bought a $70 one off amazon, what's the difference honestly? Just the appearance, right?

I'm sure someone will give a much better answer but for the mean time, objectively weight/material and enameled coating are easy ways to tell quality. Something more subjective is probably the width, height, lid, handles of the dutch oven.

I will say if you bought a cheap enameled dutch oven, return it. The enamel will chip off much more easily and render the whole thing nigh useless. If it's just pure cast iron, that's up to you if you want enameled. Both have pros and cons, you'll need to research.

We have one of these, in Blue. This is a great price, as good as it gets, and Staub is as good as Le Creuset except the interior is black and I do prefer Le Creuset enamel colors. If you don't have a big dutch oven here it is. BFL

Who is paying $614 for one of these?
Surely few if any are paying that 'regular' price.

$175 seems like a good (perhaps even slick) deal, but regular price is more likely ~$300.

That's ~42% off vs. 72% off in OP.

Solid deal. Nordstrom cancelled my 7 1/4 Qt Le Creuset deal (SD effect) in November, for $250. This would be a nice substitute.

Staubs are great pots but unless you are super serious about cooking I don't know if they are worth the price over something like a Lodge.

I have both Staub and the China made Lodge. Staub is a thicker cast iron which I find holds in heat better and more evenly, and their lid locks in steam better. Lodge is good. Staub is better.
