Just a FYI - if you have a keyboard with trackpad for your s8+ and are planning to upgrade to s9+ - it does NOT fit correctly. The back cover does not align with the camera and the stylus has move slightly making the fit very clumsy. it is still functional as a kickstand though. They keyboard fits but feels very lose when attached. It is also very sporadic when using the keyboard and really unusable. Just thought I would share that info with anyone considering the upgrade.

It's definitely not. I'm having trouble finding a reason to upgrade from the S7+.

I've caved in and doing it every year basically. I justify it by simply thinking about how much I use the products vs cost. Few hundred bucks a year for something I use literally daily is more than justified to me. And I also think about the fact that the longer I hang on to it the more it'll cost me to trade it in lol, so what am I saving really?

Then I also consider how much I spend on other crap through the year that I get no use out of.

It also depends on if you're a fully working adult vs a young guy living on the cheap at which point I am questioning why you're buying flagship model electronics.

Seems straight forward to me

Surprised you didn't notice a difference in speed. A while back I returned a 7 FE to go to a S8 and the performance jump was substantial. I barely notice a difference between that and my S23U tho.
You're right, I did notice an increase in speed going from the Tab 7 FE to 8+. In that previous post I was just describing my experience in noticing the inefficiency of the SD 8 gen 1 chip in the 8+. It's the only reason I'd consider going to a 9+.

I bought a used s7+ with official keyboard case from ebay for $270. I know it won't be getting any updates but it does everything I need it to do really well and they battery has been lasting a long time. The jump from the s7+ to the s9+ doesn't seem worth it at all.

Decent price coming from S7FE, less than $100 per year for upgrade seems like a steal. Given S7FE from June 2021. So $319 seems alright.

You have to see the curent gen 2x OLED screen on the S9 and up. It's hard to look at an LCD screen or even a 1st gen OLED after... HDR content is phenomenal. I know, I know 1st world problems.

I am glad to see the deal back, I traded the S7+ for the S9 Ultra for $479. I loved my S7+ but it isn't getting android updates so I cannot get work emails on it so I will upgrade so I get Android 14 and the latest security updates for work.

Did you have to sign up for this? Or is it just a reoccurring deal?

I just traded my s7 in for the s9+ on this deal. I got 3 years out of the s7, loved it but always wished I bought the bigger screen version. My total was 360 or so shipped with tax. At 3 years old, the battery life on the s7 wasnt too bad but it's age was starting to show. Combine that with no more software updates, the cost of the new models increasing and the trade in value for the older models starting to drop and I figured I might as well upgrade.

I did the S22u + S8 plus trade in for S23U + S9 ultra in September.
Kind of regret but oh well...it was $250 total I need to spend.
One thing with the tab s9 ultra was it is way too big, I have 4 tablets, and I used my Samsung tablet in the bedroom, before, with the S7+ and S8+, it was ok, easy to hold, size is alright. When I opened my S9 ultra box and saw how big that thing is I was like "oh damn that's too big".
I think S9+ would be a better choice but that's just me.

Yeah in the app. Before, the price would jump once you get to the cart. Forgot to mention this is with EDU discount.
Any way to get a valid edu account and discount?

Aye I actually bought a S8 Ultra in between trading in my S7E for that and then getting the S8 instead. Unfortunately it's no OLED screen on the S8 (S9 does now), but the size is so much more manageable. If someone used it for work though I can see the Ultra sizes being a lot more useful. To hold in the hand tho was too awkward for me.
