I would pick it up as a novelty, if it had novelty pricing. I guess limited runs are expensive, but meh.

NEVER did I think that I would be reading a track list off a Super Metroid vinyl album... like actually reading the track names and have vivid memories of the sights and sounds. This is so weird and I don't know how someone would stumble upon this and feel like they just had to share it on SD. LMAO. WTF... I feel so conflicted right now. I would love this for like $10, but will live in my mind rent free for eternity now at $40. Thanks a lot OP

It's worth noting that this is NOT the original soundtrack for Super Metroid. It's a "recreated" version by a producer named Jammin' Sam Miller. Just a warning for people thinking it's the actual game OST from Nintendo.

That makes a lot more sense. I was like, uh, isn't the original master of the soundtrack digital, why would you transfer it to vinyl and lose fidelity over time?

It's still confusing as I can't imagine this had an analog master either, so a vinyl might have more detail than a digital stream, but maybe there's some other reason people put digitally mastered work on an analog format I don't understand.

A quick explanation of what this is from the Jammin' Sam Miller:
"Composed by Kenji Yamamoto. Recreated by me. This was made possible by locating the original instrument samples from workstation keyboards and drum machines before they were put into the game and rebuilding the soundtrack from the ground up, applying some modern mixing techniques along the way to lift the veil of 16bit compression and create an updated listening experience."

I guess some people just want things on vinyl but you could also just donate to the creater on paypal and download the flacs he links on the youtube videos.
