All these USB-C monitors that support DP-alt mode are mostly the same.

For Nintendo Switch:
* Yes It will work, you need to use the included cable from the Switch to one of the USB-C ports
* You can use other cables, but they need to be either a) USB e-marked (ranging from speeds 2.0 and up) or b) USB 3.2 cables (which are automatically e-marked)
* The other USB-C port needs to be powered by at least a 45W USB-PD AC adapter/charger
* This setup essentially replaces the dock. It would output to the screen and not mirror.

For Laptops/Desktops:
* As long as it's supported, the single USB-C cable can output video + power the portable monitor as well. This works with my Chromebook, Dell, and MacBook
* Note that you can also charge your device if you plug in the additional charging cable into the other USB-C port (45W USB-PD and up), so it will power-passthrough from the monitor back to the laptop

For these monitors, I'd suggest investing a little more into ones that have touchscreen enabled. Using these with Windows/Chromebook/Android + touchscreen makes things much more convenient.

I am not chinese but the name is just a combination of location and Electronic Market LLC combined.

ShenzenShi(City)
Saisi- Maybe the real name?
DianZiShangWuYouXianGongSi- Electronic Market LLC

Basically it will be similar to
New york metropolitan electronic market LLC
just written in chinese.

I use a monitor like this with my S22 Ultra. Sometimes it struggles to power the monitor and resets the connection, but if I connect power it's usually good. It runs Samsung Dex automatically. If the monitor isn't a touchscreen, the phone turns into a TouchPad control for dex. Pretty nifty.

this looks great except mediocre and negative reviews makes me nervous.
I checked the reviews for the 2 other monitors that match the exact same design and specs of the monitor I linked to before placing the order and the reviews were leaning positive so I figured I'd take the plunge. We shall see how it goes. And yes, I checked Fakespot as well.

Thanks, I have just bought this one

I bought either the same or a very similar one last year from the same seller. It's been fantastic. It's definitely worth the extra price for the colors, brighter screen, and extra screen real estate.

These are just cheap Chinese rebranded monitors. You can find plenty of deals often across the brands, I don't necessarily think this is slick.

I got this one for $60. https://a.co/d/1JB6bE1

Supposedly 400nits, 2ms, 100% RGB. However, HDR doesn't work or I haven't been able to get it to work, when enabled doesn't display anything.

But as a $60 portable monitor paired next to my mini-LED laptop, it is good enough for a 2nd screen while traveling.

Edit: here is another listing for it in stock. COOLHOOD Portable Monitor 15.6'', 1080P FHD Plug&Play Travel Laptop Monitor w/Smart Cover, USB-C HDR Portable Second Computer Display, Portable Game External Screen for PC Phone Mac Xbox PS4/5 Switch https://a.co/d/cVwAB5m

If you look at the different brands they all look the same. Some have minor differences in specs but I suspect that they are all the same and what is being advertised is probably not certified and probably won't be detected by most people buying these cheap monitors.

Not that I care, it's not like I'm going to find a high end brand portable monitor for this price.

I dunno about that.

I think I would still take Amazon return policy and Prime shipping over maybe saving a couple of bucks.

I have one 16" 1280p touchscreen version purchased from AliExpress a month ago was $41. It is so great. certainly better than Amazon.

Can you personally recommend any touchscreen-enabled ones? IPS with high refresh rates would make it all the more appealing. Thanks!
I don't, no. I do have a 14" touchscreen but it doesn't stand out any different than the others. I do plan on upgrading to say an 18.5" haha

I have a similar one (mostly used for work second monitor) and have used it with my Switch, but I went from Mini HDMI to HDMI, using the C for power. For my laptop, I just use USB-C for power and video, but this way I can keep the Switch charged as well.
Sounds like you are using the Switch dock or something similar to get HDMI out from the Switch. I would suggest:

* plug the 45W+ AC adapter into the monitor into the top USB-C port. wait for it to turn on.
* plug the Switch into the bottom USB-C port (again, using a USB 3.2 or the USB-C e-marked cable that came with the monitor)

This should then allow you to:

* get Video out via USB-C cable
* charge the Switch also since the 45W power charger should be sufficient in powering the monitor + Switch

Haven't seen a touchscreen one for Android phones. Any examples?
They should all do touchscreen on Android, with the caveat that the Android does USB-C DP Alt Mode with HDMI.

Quick list of compatible phones:

* Samsung S20, S21, S22
* Samsung Note 10, 20
* Samsung Fold 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Quick list of NO HDMI OVER USB-C CABLE
* Samsung Zflip 2,3,4,5 (sigh...)
* All Google Pixel phones
* etc...

Care to link one for today? Ones i'm seeing are advertised $47 but when you click on product it takes you to their smaller/other models. When you select the 15.6" 1080P option price jumps near $80s.

Again,, even if you got it for $41. I rather pay the $19 to have it delivered in 1-2 days and have Amazon customer support backing it.

I have this. You can find it on ebay directly from uperfect for $115. All of the claims are real, and for the price it can't be beat. I'm surprised mods are allowing this link. This front page post must not be sponsored like the last one (even though it wasn't listed as such), where all of the posts offering alternatives were deleted.
Can you link me? I don't see it on ebay for 115. TIA

The listing has changed but it's the same seller, product, and initial asking price.

Was about to order this as a portable monitor for my Asus ROG Ally until I saw the refresh rate of 60 Hz instead of 120.
