Just bought this for my home for $25 more refurnished/open box! Very cool wii-connected water filter that tells you the flow rate and will alert you when you have a water flow drop (as well as bug you about replacing the filter).

I had one of these and they suck. If your house has a 1" pipe, these things will drop the whole house's water pressure.

If you're going to go through the hassle of getting these installed, get a 3 stage whole house filter like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HNJ9R62/, because the installation is the expensive part (if you plan to hire a professional).

Interesting suggestion. Are the replacement filters proprietary?

I had a reverse osmosis water filter under my sink. Every month they'd get extremely filthy and it uses like 5 different filters. Eventually realized it was more cost effective to just buy bulk water from costco.

I wouldn't expect this puny single filter to do anything for water purity.

I can't say I bought that exact one, but I bought an iSpring 3 stage filter for under my sink, the replacement filters are like 20-30 bucks for all 3, and need to be replaced every 6ish months. the filters look pretty generic, there are no special connectors or anything, so there are probably cheaper filters if I looked.

Literally bought one of these yesterday to replace my older same model due to a flow reading issue with the app (constantly reads "0.00 GPM", even with water running). I found a couple of other reviews (going back about 6-months) stating that they had the same issue, but were told that it was a firmware issue, and there was no resolution. I haven't installed my new one yet, but hope it fixes my issues...

When my unit WAS working, I loved the ability to monitor water flow and turn off supply remotely. I didn't immediately see other options on the market that offer the same features, especially at this price point.

Regarding the user stating 1'' piping concerns - the inlet/outlet of these is 1", but it only comes with 1' to 3/4'' sharkbite adapters. I don't have 1'' piping, but I would think that you could simply buy 1'' x 1'' female sharkbite connections and directly connect to your home's plumbing.

Several people are referring to full RO water filter systems. This product is not intended to replace these systems... It's a simple filter (that does have three levels of filtering capabilities), but certainly not a RO system...

Also, it's important to note that a filter IS NOT PROVIDED with this system, you must purchase the filter cartridge separately.

I would think they're proprietary? All these filers, including the GE one require their own filters and are all not that cheap. But a 3 stage filter is much better than a 1 stage and if you have a RO under the sink, these whole house filters will make your RO unit last much longer as well and won't require the standard 6 month replacements.

The important thing is not losing water pressure. When I used the GE filter at my previous house, running the shower and then turning on a faucet somewhere else meant both would drop in pressure a lot. A proper whole house filter like I one I suggest, you can run multiple and you won't see a pressure drop.

Wow, curious where you're located. That means the water coming in isn't that clean for some reason. Cause a bunch of those under the sink RO systems usually recommend filter replacements every 6 months, 1 year.

For these? No, there are a ton of sellers on Amazon selling the same product at varying prices.

Though if you do buy this type of filter setup, make sure to have someone check to see if the connection between the filter housings are tight, as many people report that it leaks from there. And also, overtightened housings will crack very easily.

Look for one that takes 4.5" x 20" filters. That is a standard whole house filter size.

I like this one: https://www.filtersfast.com/pente...ousing.asp

Did you have it going to a dedicated faucet for drinking only or to the main sink for washing dishes, hands, etc.?

Bulk water from Costco does the trick, if you don't care about filtering microplastics, alkalinity, or any other chemicals in your water. A lot of the bottled water is trash. I've considered moving to sparkletts as its supposed to be reverse osmosis or distillation but as for now, I have a Simpure counter top system I guess does OK. Haven't had the water tested though.

I live in California. My local utility company is >300x health guideline on arsenic, chromium, and radon. But visibly the filters get extremely dirty after light use.
