I see a Premium edition for no charge and Premier edition for a $5 charge. TT does not show a Premium edition on their website at all. They have Deluxe, Premier and Home and Office. Do you think that both are the same? And, the Fidelity site says: "Fidelity is pleased to offer you a free federal and state tax return using TurboTax Online Premium, or for $5 use TurboTax Premier desktop download." This does not sound like there would be 5 free e-files. Maybe that is only for full payment of the software. Any thoughts? I have not used TT. I have been a TaxCut user.
Premier is a notch above Deluxe. Now, regardless how much it costs you a desktop TurboTax desktop (or free altogether), it includes 5 free e-files for federal returns.

Those are the download versions. I don't even see product names for the online version, they charge extra for assistance, but you don't get that free. You will get the equivalent features free with the online version.

Can't say I've ever seen anyone ask this before.

Picture to show exactly where it is please. Went crazy last time delving through Fidelity pages attempting to find it only to find out the page looks different for different accounts / access to the offer or not.
It's on the bottom of the Portfolio page, same as it's always been. Some people have searched for Turbotax and found the free offer on that page. I'd never seen it myself, but yesterday I tried it and say it after refreshing that page.

If you need to file two states, use the online version and both will be free. If you use the download version you'll pay for the second state download and both state e-files.

Go through to the File section after adding both states and check out. That way you lock in the price.
Do you know if the online version can import the download version datafile? Can one first prep using the download version follow by filing via online version for the multiple states?

I doubt it, since they would not expect you to pay for both products in a given year. It can import your 2022 data file, but that's not what you want to do.

online version is completely free (free federal, free state(s), and free efile for all).
cd/download version is $5 and 1 state free, state efile is not free.

Since the information got wiped out when the other thread was deleted due to fraudulent activity being discussed, I wanted to point out that when you purchase a download license, the code get stored into your TT account and starting his year, all TT installs using a specific code have to be in the same TT login. If you intend to give away any of your purchased codes, I'm pretty sure that whoever uses it will need to log into that TT account, even if you haven't installed it anywhere yet. Mint and other Intuit products use the same login, so you may want to reconsider giving people access to that.

The TurboTax scam continues...

My main page says 'Get Premium Free'... then, when I click, it's only 20% off.

Also, I fell for the other Turbotax scam last year: See how it says 'Receive a Free Federal and State Tax Return'? Sounds great! Until you fill out your taxes, then they want to charge you $29.99 to e-file your one state.

It's a joke. It's a scam. It's time to put TurboTax out of business BY NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM.

It worked for me. My account met the minimums. A lot of trades and decent size. I don't use their broker or financial advisor, so that isn't a req. I'm one of the people that had the issue where it only said I was entitled to the 20% discount previously.

Also I can confirm it's tied to my TurboTax account and I can download the returns for my old keys, going back years.

Like that other guy said one of those code / link buyers tried to hack this or whatever so Fidelity / TurboTax took it down for a couple months.

Don't sell your code or link or whatever for a stupid Amazon $5 gift card, it will mess it up for everyone (that's why it wasn't working), and will mess up your TurboTax account history, either they or you will be able to download each other's return. messing with my tax info is totally not worth $5 amazon GC, if you're that crazy just pirate it so you can save even more money and get your SSN hacked. I also have the free offer for Premium or $5 for Premier. Now I need to figure out which version to use. I could find no information comparing the two products.

Weird, still showing only 20%. Will have to contact my advisor. Millions in multiple accounts and this is my treatment. Ridonkulous.

They're pretty much the same. The question is whether you want to use the online product (Premium) or download (Premier). If you have any self-employment income, you probably want to use the download since you can upgrade to Home & Business for $15 from within the program, or just use Premier and not necessarily get the guidance for schedule C. With online, I think it won't do self-employment income unless you upgrade, and you'll have to pay more than $15.
