Straight up - if you're getting a TV of this size, PLEASE make sure you are positing it right! You're going to need it to be lower than you imagine as the goal is to watch TV in the middle of the screen. I can easily imagine this being mounted too high and it looking crappy.

This should be like a projector. Remember in school the teacher would pull it down and it would be a bit low? That was so you could sit in your chair and easily see it. Don't mount high!!!

Yes it was only made public 2 weeks ago at the CES 2024, came out faster than thought just happened to be on Best Buy site and was like is this real, someone will need to comment on differences between 2023 U8K and 2024 U7, I figure I can cancel if its big, but u8k 100" has been out of stock for a long time and it costs more

this tv is better than TCL 98" S5, TCL doesn't list much specs on it which may speak for itself. im just not sure $1,000 better, maybe it is, no one owns one yet, we shall see.

I have a 77" G2 upstairs in the living room. It looks fantastic. Well, except for sports from the networks. That's trash. I have the 100" u8k in the theater downstairs, it looks fantastic sans the same sports issues from local networks. It definitely makes the artifacts and blurring more prominent on the larger screen. I wish I could get the networks to fix the broadcast issue from fox and nbc. OTA or YouTube tv it's the same trash on all TVs. CBS or ESPN are just fine.
why dont sports shine on oled, like a G2, thats what I primarily watch on tv. If I was loaded id figure a g2 97" would be awesome on anything

Wait until your area gets the capability to REALLY use that ATSC 3.0 tuner in it. My locals all broadcast 1080p in their subset of channels and it's drastically different than tuning into their normal 720p/1080i ones.

NOTE: Did have to connect my G2 to the internet to unscramble the channels, which was a bit disappointing as I didn' wanna give such network access...

For what it's worth, I have a Hisense TV in my bedroom, and I'd never buy one again. The menus and Google TV lag so bad I almost wish it was a dumb tv

this website has a cool calculator, http://www.displaywars.com/98-inc...-inch-16x9 a 98" TV is 4,103.79 inches and a 100" TV 4,273.00 inches
So over the entire screen you get another 169.21 inches. but even so, no would not.

CBS and ESPN are great, watching upscaled 4k from the fox sports app looks incredible on both TVs. It's the feed from the local fox and nbc stations. I noticed it when I moved in this area 2 years ago on my 70" Vizio over the air. Then same on a firestick with that TV with either YouTube TV or Hulu providing my local networks. Then on the G2 and then I knew it was a broadcast issue.

Can you disable all the Google crap on this and just hook a Roku to it? The Google takes like a week to get past setup.
Don't connect the TV to the internet and the Google stuff won't work. Just connect your Roku to one of the HDMI inputs. It's that simple.
