The i3-1215U is a gigantic improvement from its predecessor, the Intel Core i3-1115G4, and faster than the Intel Core i3-N305.

For what it is, and there is no shortage of folks that this will be just fine for (growing up in a family business in the '50s, my father informed me at an early age that more people ate fatback than steak). An excellent deal for somebody. Repped.

Excellent deal, at this price you are normally firmly in Chromebook territory, but it's a windows laptop with a 1080p screen.

Also, wow laptops have gotten light. 3.7 lbs for a 15.6" would have been almost unfathomable back when a 2.5" magnetic drive was the typical configuration.

A couple of years ago we bought an HP from Microcenter for $150. It had a much more humble Ryzen 3 3250U CPU, and we were prepared to say "Well, for this price, what did we expect?" Much to our surprise, such a lowly PC has performed well for our intended purposes and is still in service in our household. Granted that we have other PCs (including a gaming PC) that can do the heavy lifting if need be, but we are happy to say that we were wrong about a super-cheap machine like this being equivalent to throwing away the money. If you do not expect it to perform everything lightening fast, then you may well find that this particular model performs just fine for many tasks.

Oh, this class of HP machines is all cheap plastic. But look at the price. And ours has held up.
