Good specs but I've seen pretty terrible reviews on MSI laptops due to the build quality? How does this compare to the Asus G14 or Lenovo Legion Slim 5?
I pulled the trigger on this last night but returned. The Display isn't great nor is the cpu
What's better than fast 16gb ram upgradable to 64, 1tb ssd, 4060? I don't know if the cpu is any good. My current fastest desktop is 3700x with asus strix radeon rx 480. I don't know anything better. I don't know if i can get anything better in the price range. Is 13th gen intel a furnace?

OK. I'm convinced. I will go back to the store and buy it...
I am a MSI gaming laptop owner. Do not get any small size MSI gaming laptops, they're plagued with issues from poor build quality to overheating issues. See the MSI gaming laptop subreddit for more information, especially about broken hinges.

I'd buy it but i read intel 13th gen runs hot and MSI quality is bad. . I've never owned MSI. Old laptops i get for free are mostly low end Lenovo and HP.
Purchased yesterday. It will not be charged by my WavLink thunderbolt dock. Also fan kicks on and off constantly. Trying to determine if these issues are deal breakers

When people talk here about other people having problems with MSI build quality, what exactly are they talking about? I did have a major issue with the hinges on an MSI Stealth, but that was circa 2015, and after a hacky DIY fix, that laptop is still running very well today. My 2 year old Katana has had no such issue, and friends and family have a few MSIs that have had no problems that I'm aware of.
Just wondering, because all I've heard about are hinges. The hinges on my old Stealth were super stiff and eventually the plastic they were mounted into broke very badly. But they've used completely different designs in recent years, and I see no reason why the hinges on the newer ones I've seen would ever break. I did just buy an Asus Zenbook but not because of anything to do with my Katana. The Katana is relatively heavy and doesn't have great battery life, but it's a gaming-oriented model and I knew that going in. I chose the Zenbook because it is super slim and light and has good battery life, so I can easily take it to work when I need to (without the cord), and the OLED screen is easy on my aging eyes. The MSIs will stay in service.

I've returned laptops before at BB and have never been charge.

Their return policy doesn't include laptops among the list of items that have a restocking fee.
