I went ahead and picked up both Red & Blue CD versions. My last CD set was 2010. The original LP which I have is micro-grooved and it really affected the sound quality. These appear to be the same time per side as the originals, not worth the extra $30 IMO, but I'm not a hard core Beatles fan either. The CD sets are at their all time low right now at ~$22 ea.

Be forewarned this has a lot of 'modern' remastered songs, rebalanced and mixed from the original tracks.

Basically the "modern" mixes undo all the work that George Martin and Phil Spector did to make everything super 'jangly' with high treble. Which was a big part of why Beatles music sounds like it does.
