Looks like they have dropped the price again to $249. Looks like a decent TV for the price and size but I have no experience with this brand. No shipping, pick up only

It may be I looked at the 55", but I do recall thinking it was the cheapest 65" I'd seen and was a little skeptical it would last past the warranty.

It an old Japanese brand now owned by Orion Electric. Used to be high quality, now a cheap manufacturer of consumer products.

You get what you paid for.

Orion did manufacture the Sansui brand but I don't think they do any more. Now it is Nimble Holdings of Hong Kong. Some of these license deals change real fast so it is hard to keep up. http://www.sansui-smart.com/en_1intro.asp?Id=118

Sansui is a label that has different owners depending on regions of the world. In the US, it's controlled by EliteLux Technologies. This is the Sansui US website (yikes): https://www.sansuiproducts.com/

FYI, the 55" is also available for $180 if you want to edit that into the post: https://www.microcenter.com/produ...-google-tv

This set probably is a decent option if you need a secondary set for a room at the lowest possible cost and don't care about super-deep blacks, great image processing, etc. Both the 55"/65" sets seems to have a 1-year in-home warranty (many of the cheaper manufacturers force you to ship the TV back to them at your personal expense, so this is a big plus on a super-budget set). That said, who knows if the company will be around in a year to honor the warranty if things go bad.

I'm also pretty sure this uses a VA panel rather than IPS/ADS for those curious. Based on the manuals and screenshots some reviewers posted, I think the feet on the TV can also be adjusted to a narrower position.

I remember back in the 80's I had a Sansui rack mount component system I enjoyed very much.

Can you post a hot deal on a Time Machine so we can go back and scoop this one up?

Its cheap for two reasons. Its not a premium brand and they will make their money back when they sell you data.
