Not only is this the lowest airfare travelling round trip from Chicago (ORD) to Sapporo Japan (CTS) but this is on EVA Air's special livery jet, Hello Kitty!
![Whee Whee](https://static.slickdealscdn.com/images/slickdeals/blank.gif)
Your entire flight will be on the themed Hello Kitty airplane (
always subject to change by the airline). Your economy airfare will include a personal item, a carry-on bag up to 15 lbs and 2 free checked bags up to 50 lbs. You will also received 30-mins of inflight wi-fi for free.
So I cannot help it if something changes with the airline due to whatever and it won't be on a Hello Kitty jet come October or November....however, when booking, just make sure your flight numbers are BR 55 and 56 (ORD TPE segment) and BR 116 and 115 (TPE CTS segment) for both outbound and return.
EVA Air is Skytrax certified 5-star rated Star Alliance member. Overall, it was ranked the 8th best airlines in the world.
Travel Availability:
Departs ORD: Oct 22-24, 28-31; Nov 4-7, 11-14, 18-21, 25-28
Returns: Oct 29-31; Nov 4-7, 11-14, 18-21, 25-28; Dec 2-5, 9-12, 16-18

Just reading the words Mr. Sparkle cracks me up. Right up there with Spider Pig, there's no air in space, and what the hell is that.
Also, this isn't what I would call a great deal unless you're a die-hard Hello Kitty fan and require a direct flight to Hokkaido. If you watch for them, you can snag RT to Tokyo from Chicago sub-$700, and then take a cheap domestic flight up to New Chitose (Sapporo's airport) for around $100 if you play your cards right. It's fun to take the shinkansen up that way but that's much more expensive than a flight (yes, even with the JR Pass) and takes much longer.

Even if you don't get the Sanrio jets, EVA is still a great airline.
If you grew up in California you are desensitized to that weather as normal.

I lived in Northern Japan and Hokkaido is great in October. Sapporo's fall colors are excellent the last two weeks of October. Even in the winter it doesn't really get that cold, the mid-west is way colder. They do get a ton of snow though.
I've been here in Nihon since Dec 5th with my nihonjin wife, we are heading back to the USA Feb 28th. It's a cool place to visit. The winters are nothing like the Northern states in the USA in winter though. The hello kitty jet looks pretty cool.
One funny thing is, we booked here in Nihon using JTB from Tokyo to Sapporo and you get such awesome prices and packages, we got on the star wars ana plane.. we had no clue until we boarded. You get c3po and r2d2 doing their thing over the intercom and the head rests and flight crew wear star wars outfits.
