I had a few of these delonghi espresso makers early on. The light weight ones like this should def be the clearance price for how plasticky they feel. The ec270 I had weighed a good bit more and felt better, but all in all they're probably the same internally...

The pros were it's easy to clean the brew group with a toothbrush and wet rag while it's still hot... It makes espresso... And it's pretty fun to use for a newb like myself. They even sell third party bottomless portafilters out there which you could probably do some fun stuff with paired with a very good grinder. Forgot to mention also there is a steam wand!

Downsides are: no three way solenoid valve, so after brewing, you have to let the portafilter stay there for a couple of minutes to avoid coffee spewing about. You also have to be sure you don't let the machine get cruddy -- rinse and wipe the brew group before storing, use good water or gently descale as needed (I think this has an aluminum boiler, though, so buy Al safe cleaning solution)...

Overall, for this price--solid buy.

If we are looking at the same ones, they seem to me that they didn't do maintenance/cleaning and possibly were using hard water that led to scaling that clogged somewhere.

The Dallas Retail Road location says low stock online, but they have something like 35 on the floor for this price.

edited to add -

(I drove and grabbed one immediately after seeing this Slickdeal - I think it feels like a solid build and I am looking forward to tinkering with it)

Now they are showing out of stock at all locations in the Dallas area, but I find that hard to believe....

Did you find it in the home goods aisle?
The same place coffee machines have always been. No special clearance section.

With any espresso machine a very very good grinder is the key to constant shots. I love my Rocket but without my Ceado grinder it wouldn't pull the amazing shots it does. In fact a great grinder can make even the cheaper machines much better.

How much do you pay your butler to make espresso?

Wouldn't buy this for over $100, but at this price point, it becomes a 1 to 2 year toy IMHO. Thxs Op. In 4 1. For those in Sac area, looks to be a few available in Folsom store.

Yes, you should. You should still do routine cleaning/maintenance even then.

Dang... Just ordered this a few weeks back from Sam's for $90

edit: never mind. I've had it for a month, but just recently unboxed it. they went ahead and credited me back a partial refund.
