Verizon for Warp 5G, T-Mobile for GSM, AT&T is coming later this year. You choose which carrier you want.

Any clue how I know which to choose, does it depend on my phone model? I have no idea what these terms really mean. Currently on Mint with a samsung fold4
If your phone is unlocked, it supports either network. Choosing which network depends on coverage at your location. Mint is T-Mobile, so choosing GSM will give you the same coverage as what you have now.

Did you buy the 12 months right away or are you waiting for the 30 day trial to be close to over?
After your line is active on Free Trial - you can do Change Plan and select the new one under Annual Plan. It will switch you to that AFTER Free Trial. That's what I just did. Safer than waiting till your FT expires as this deal may not be around.

Can you change from Verizon to GSM if it turns out it is worse than GSM in your area?

Doesn't seem like it... It includes international calls and texts from the US, not in other countries. Probably ahead to look at their higher end plan that does include intl data, or pick up a sim when you get to China, which I assume is cheap.

Includes taxes and fees, says so right on the plan comparison page.

You'll get the free month, but not the $50 GC with this plan.
Per month. They also have a Lite plan for $72/yr that includes 1gb/mo
The above is possible. Just chatted with CS and they confirmed

Yep. The best utilization of the deal is getting the 30 day trial, automatically selecting the plan you want for the end of your trial, and doing annual. Essentially, you get 13 months of service for 12 and a free gift card at the tail end of it all.
Note that this 10GB plan doesn't qualify for the $50 GC, per fine prints:

New customers who sign up for the 30-day free trial will receive a $50 prepaid card after 12 months of continuous paid service on one of our Unlimited Data or Shareable Data plans (minimum $15/mo).

Generally yes you can do an internal port, however if the plan is no longer available it might be an issue so I'd do it within the first few months if you need to do it. Generally if you have a good reason (like you moved and can no longer get reliable service) then even if the plan is no longer available the folks that do support on Reddit can get things done for you if regular support can't.

That's not true. Check my comments above. I checked with CS and it does qualify

Thanks. The problem is I don't know which one to choose from the get go. I don't have any experience with either. So no idea which to choose: Verizon or GSM.

My current renewal is due on March 31st.

Can I purchase this plan now and opt for 30 day free service during April then later activate the plan on May 1st? This will work ? TIA.
You'd have to use different accounts to do it in that order.

Why not just trial in April and buy in May?

Are you using an iPhone or Android? Also, did you have to get a local esim plan? TIA
I've been using Samsung Galaxies the whole time. For data (mainly whatsapp and browsing), absolutely, an eSIM was a better deal than USMobile's native esim plans, depending on where you're travelling. Where are you looking for?

If you reach out to them on chat, they'll ask for your main address where you'll be using your phone the majority of the time, and make their recommendation based on that. In metroplitan Chicago for example, Verizon's 5G service is very matured, especially near my home address, so they had me go with that after finding that it was significantly stronger signal than GSM.
