I searched the entire thread to see if there's a time limit of when the SIM card needed to be activated, but didn't find it here. I did an online chat was told:

"You can activate any time. 🙂
There is no expiration date for a new SIM Card."

I'd jump on this weekend's Boost deal.

A year of their unlimited plan (35GBs full speed) at $150/line.
Is the 35 gb deprioritized vs 10 gb prioritized? Don't need 35 gb but would be good to have especially at lower price than this. Me and my wife need to move out of mint before start of next month. Don't want to lose primary numbers.

Boost's T-Mobile service is identical to Mint's.

The 10GBs on US Mobile are only prioritized if you use a 5G phone.

If you want Boost's AT&T service, you need to activate your plan with a "Black" SIM card from a local Boost dealer -- they're $10 ea.

I guess it makes sense to try the boost out for a year. It's cheaper and more data. Also I already ordered a trial from us mobile. I don't want to port twice so maybe just don't activate it. Will they charge me?

You won't get charged, but I'd buy this Boost deal and not activate it until my 30 day trial with US Mobile is up. Porting between these providers isn't difficult, and happens in minutes.

That's 13 months for the price of $150 - killer deal.

To do this, select that you will be porting your number during Boost's checkout so your Boost SIM doesn't get automatically activated.

Enjoy!

Got you. So just place an order today for the kit with boost and then transfer the number after a month. Great idea and I guess it's easy to move out of US mobile. Thanks for the help.

I think there was a typo in the previous message. On the Boost ordering page, you need to check "yes, I will transfer" at the bottom of the ordering page. If you say "no, give me a new number" the SIM card will be activated before you receive it.

And the Boost offer expires tomorrow.

Thanks for catching that.

You're correct.

Yes.

Make sure to tell Boost that you will be transferring a number.

Tello is also good.
I can add that Tello has live 24/7 call in support if you need that and you can also rollover your data each month as well as your call minutes if you don't have unlimited calling plan.

Picked up this deal. My locked Metro OnePlus Nord N30 that I got on their "$20" phone deal several months back just rolled over it's 6 month mark to be carrier unlocked, so this deal will be good for getting T-Mo service using their GSM SIM.

I got the 30 days for free and selected the $180 plan. The last day of the 30 day trial it automatically renewed without me having to do anything. Great service and getting 5G UW on an iPhone 15 pro max. Amazing deal for $15 a month - we're finally comparable to European rates and getting close to what they pay in India for cell service monthly!

Question for those who are already using this service: On a new Android with 5G (Galaxy S24) am I better off with Tmobil or Verizon with USM?

Helium Mobile is just $20 ($5 in Miami) and you get tokens you can use to pre-pay the plan. I havent paid in 6 months. Cant complain at all!

There is no way to assure ATT service. Boost dealers' cooperation in selling you a black Sim is YMMV. Also there is no data point that you can activate the black Sim on this promotion instead of the Tmobile Sim that comes with it. So huge YMMV that you can be stuck with tmobile. This is giving me pause on jumping on the boost deal.
