This is very good for cooking or to prepare some types of tea out there. But not even close to be useful for coffee. Your daily coffee maker is better suited than this for that.

Saturate the grounds with water right off the boil (about 205°F). Use just enough water to cover the grounds. Let it bloom for 15 seconds. Coffee de-gasses or "blooms" when it's fresh–the coffee bed should raise up and bubble a bit.

I'd double check it occasionally with a quick read thermometer as ultimately it just got inaccurate, but the feature set and ease of operation was really nice while it lasted.

I found I could get comparable results to a gooseneck kettle by simply decanting the water into a Hario V60 "Air Drip" Kettle and using that to pour:

The temperature loss from decanting is really not bad if you expend an extra 100-200mls first to preheat the vessel. I use that same "pre-heat" water to rinse the V60 paper filter and pre-heat the carafe as well, so nothing is wasted.
