If anyone is wondering, this is about one penny cheaper per load than the Sam's Club everyday price.

For those who use fabric softeners on your own machines, ensure to use machine washer every two weeks as well.

Sounds like you saw the same gross video that I did. Liquid fabric softener residue builds up and actually gets moldy in the hidden crevices in your washing machine. I'm good with just using dryer sheets now. Supposedly liquid softener is responsible for many early breakdowns too. With so many newer appliances really sucking reliability wise, I'm taking any easy precautions I can to keep my washer that came with the house going as long as possible.

How does this compare to the Gain softener for the same price?

I just replaced my LG/Kenmore washer after about 12 years of use and 0 maintenance done on it. Been using fabric softener with every load, every time. Never has been an issue with it breaking my washer. I will give you though that the washer was starting to smell for sure.
