Regarding the watch, I have to say up front that I have a profound respect and appreciation for the Citizen radio controlled "Atomic Time Keeping" watches. If you are not familiar with what that means, the watch has an internal radio receiver that turns on, usually around 2am every day. Around the world there are radio transmitters that broadcast signals which are synced to the international atomic clock (Ft. Collins, CO for North America) to provide the exact universal time. The watch receives that signal and synchronizes itself to the exact second / time of day). In addition, these Citizen watches have an integrated perpetual calendar. All you have to do is configure the watch to know what time zone you are in. Once set up properly, the only adjustment you will ever need to make is when you cross time zones. The watch is an "Eco Drive" meaning that it has a rechargeable battery that is powered by any light source. Although Citizen makes no claims, other than the 5 year warranty, the battery has an expected useful life of 15-20 years! Other key features:
- 200M water resistance
- Sapphire crystal
- Excellent lume which will last the entire night
There are only two issues I have with this particular model. I prefer watches with a bracelet. Saying that, the OEM Citizen leather strap is excellent quality. The dial face is very busy. It has an internal rotating bezel that is targeted to pilots but no value to me.As you have probably guessed by now, I am an avid watch collector. I generally prefer to wear automatics but always have a Citizen RC watch on the bathroom vanity to set the automatics. These are great watches!
