Few things to note about these:

They don't require the laptop have DP alt mode on the USB-C connector, which can be a plus, but this means the displays are using DisplayLink which is an abstraction layer built up on USB, and uses the CPU and GPU to render these displays in software. Which if your system is decently powerful and has a dedicated GPU, isn't really a huge issue, but if it has only CPU integrated graphics, DisplayLink performance can be quire terrible under certain conditions, like doing anything that's tasking the GPU with even something as "simple" as YouTube playback, and gaming is out of the question.

They're generally fine for most office uses, but gaming is not going to be a fun experience and if you have no dedicated GPU, even watching videos can lead to the display becoming a stuttering mess.

DisplayLink is useful, but it's not a replacement for a true display connection, like docks that connect over DisplayPort alt mode. But if your laptop doesn't have DP Alt Mode, this is the only way you're going to get a docking station, so it does have some uses.

If you have WalMart GC to burn, they have it also for $20, the seller being HP

Just a heads up, this is a displaylink dock.

Probably fine for most users and office use. Just be aware it will require additional drivers to output video to an external monitor, and you will not be able to drive dedicated GPU graphics to an external monitor with this dock if that is something you need.

I bought 3 of these when they were $50 ea. It comes with a power brick and has 2 HDMI, Ethernet, USB c and usb-c charging port to connect to your laptop, and a few other regular ports. At $20 this is a steal because just getting the power adapter separately would cost more than this. And you're getting a good docking station with it.

And for those wondering my Lenovo P14s registers this as 92w input when I plug it in.

Is this what I need if I want to connect my work laptop to my home desktop to use my monitors, keyboard and mouse?
This is to connect mutiple monitors to one PC or laptop. If you want to share your keyboard+mouse between laptop and home PC then get KVM switch. KVM switch will allow you to connect one monitor to home PC and work laptop and use the same keyboard and mouse.

thank you for the quick reply! Wish it had a USB C port to connect my USB C phone charging cable. not possible, right?
Not possible, was hoping the same but at least i comes with it's own power cord (barrel jack)..

Correction, there are 2 USB C ports on this, I missed the one in the front when I looked at it earlier.

I bought this for work but what's up with the review that says you can't watch Netflix or play games while using it?
Copy protection isn't supported on the external monitors, I'm guessing. You probably can still watch on PC/laptop screen if that was supported to begin with.

What's the purpose of Ethernet built-in?
Anything with a high data transfer (laptop/desktop/streaming device) should be using wired ethernet and not wifi.

I order. Laptop these days are getting limited on their output ports.

Just curious, the hub communicate thru one laptop USB-C cable? Can one USB-C have all the data for 2 monitor traffic at 4K videos along with data transfer rate of a hard drive, ssd, etc and with ethernet data transfer too ???

most of the bad reviews are mac users which is quite common since its confusing to understand which products work with their laptops. so if you are a pc user then this is a non issue.
