ES is much safer than in yester years with this new president. In usually game to travel to a lot of places, but I'm still holding off for now because I would have to see what ES has to offer in terms of cultural and geographic enrichment.

Been going to Costa Rica for years. Had a connection in San Salvador once and security patted everyone down before getting on the plane. It was bizarre. They really give the impression that it's unsafe.
Nah, it's weird to be patted down AFTER security, right before you get on the plane. No need to try and diminish that. El Salvador has some issues they're trying to work through. Facts are facts.

Also labor is very cheap in South America, its not uncommon for them to use manual labor in lieu of full body scanning machines. From a logistics perspective, it makes much more sense to pat down passengers before they board then at the security terminal.
