6GHz band is used for wireless backhaul by default. You need to open the band for your devices.
Tip: name the 6 band the same as your main network.
IoT network is a nice feature. I recommend enabling this network and moving as many of your IoT devices over.
Tip: Once a device is moved onto this network, disable "Mesh" option for that device. Most, if not all, of your IoT devices are stationary (e.g. cameras, doorbells, smart speakers, etc.) Disabling this option delegates responsibility for "which is the best connection" to the devices rather than the mesh system.
Doesn't need to be said but I know some folks will do it: DO NOT move streaming devices onto the IoT network. This defeats the purpose since you want heavy, and near consistent, data flow on your main network.
Deployed all 3 and the whole house is blanketed no problem.
Even penetrates the concrete foundation to the shop in the back about 50 feet away.
No connectivity issues and zero having to reboot them.
Highly recommended.

Is there much to gain in a new system such as this?
These compared to a Orbi Pro Wifi 6 Mini setup (SXS30)?
Performance wise, the Orbo Pros are still serving me well...
But as is pretty much always the case with Netgear, the features are a letdown... Drives me nuts how they nerf hardware - making it very difficult to do certain things you might want to do, despite the hardware and underlying software being completely capable.
One example of what I am talking about... Recently I had to temporarily go with an Internet solution that required me to use their router, as there was no IP Passthrough support - so I was just using the Orbi system for its mesh/wireless. The ISP device was decent enough, and so provided things like Dynamic DNS and local/internal DNS... Now I am on ATT Fiber, which does support IP passthrough - so now I'm back using my Orbi setup as the router and I can't do basic stuff like internal DNS without 'hacking' the device after every reboot (e.g. enable telnet from hidden debug, modify networking configuration in the Linux instance controlling the Orbi system, etc.,. - the hardware and OS support what's needed out of the box, folks have been asking for it for years in the Netgear forums, but in typical fashion netgear is ignoring).
Anyone own this system and has previous experience with an Orbi setup that can weigh in?
Thanks!
