Unless you need the wireless, I'd get this for $180 (it will be back in stock in on 2/2/24)…

A few years ago it was the top budget pick by the wirecutter's review team lead by Brent Butterworth for several years. Sadly, they've moved on to more expensive subwoofers and none of their current recommendations are under $270. You can google it but they do extensive head to head listening and measuring.

Are these really only rated to 115/230 watts? The previous Klipsch R-12SWi was rated to 200/400 watts. What am I missing here? Looking at the spec sheets on the Klipsch website suggests the new model is ALOT less powerful. Any know what's going on here?

boy!!! until you mentioned I did not see that, and I already ordered R-120SWi

I also checked in Klipsch website, that is what it is saying previous version R-12SW and the latest new one R-121SW are rated 200/400; but 2023 released R-120SWi is 115/230. I will wait for the delivery and if that is what it says in the box then it goes back to Coscto.

Probably that is what i in the model number means, inferior

Honestly, I'm confused. I own the R-12SWi. And it's rated to 200/400.

ok, I received my subwoofer, neither the box nor the manual inside the box has the specification, meaning there is no where to find whether it is 200W or 400W. It is boomy like a cheap subwoofer, I don't like it, plus it is not going to standby mode (manual says it will go to standby mode in 15 to 20 minutes if I set the power button in auto) even after 2 hours. All in all very disappointing product from Klipsch, btw, I am a huge fan of Klipsch, I replaced all my systems with Klipsch speakers a while back. This is my first subwoofer from Klipsch and this one has to go back.

Here is the specs sheet for R-120SWi: https://assets.klipsch.com/produc...et_v02.pdf.
It's 115W RMS/230W Peak.

Here is the spec for R-120SW (non-i): https://assets.klipsch.com/produc...et_v01.pdf. This one has 200W/400W.

R-120SWi is the Costco version w/ cheaper amp w/ the wireless.
