If you cancel the subscription before it ships and by the "Last day to edit delivery", then the subscription cancels AND the order cancels (it might take a little time, but the actual order WILL be cancelled).
If you cancel the subscription after the "Last day to edit delivery" and it has not shipped yet...I'm not sure what happens with the order...I think you will get the order. I haven't done that one yet!
If you cancel after it ships, then you should receive the initially created order.
Furthermore, if you change the subscription delivery date to a later date (eg, you might decide to postpone delivery for a week later), in addition to the changed delivery date, the actual orders that were initially created with the subscription will be cancelled, and then re-entered at current prices (and all promotions & coupons etc. will be lost). I learned this the hard way!
AFAIK, changing the delivery date to an earlier day will preserve the original orders, however.

again, I appreciate the info you all have offered on that, as I have been a Prime member forever, and it's always been a bit nebulous to me.
I paid $35 for 24 drinks but they charged me $70 for 24 with the price adjustment. I wasn't going to return it since it was my mistake and that was what they cost.
