I have a Ryobi that's very similar to this, it comes in very handy and you will find many uses for it I would recommend if you're already in the sunjoe ecosystem. If not I would get the Ryobi version because they many more tools that use the same battery

I'm really impressed with the pruners for how little it cost, and best of all, it is compatible with the pole attachment which came with the sun joe cordless mini chainsaw I got off of woot for $50. So for $70 + tax I ended up with both tools in both handheld and pole forms. Stoked!

Yes it cuts anything you put in it, I use it for several fruit trees as well as a big maple. Snips 1 inch maple branches without even trying.
