Correct. This is ABSOLUTELY a brushed motor. Here is the link for Makita's own page for this tool. Look under "SPECS" and it clearly says "Motor Type : Brushed"

This is still active. Found two colors at my local HD in North Atlanta for $95. Any difference between the two colors? One green/blue vs orange. Model was the same, just took the orange one with a better looking box.
