That stinks to hear. Have had the pixel 6 for over 2 years and the wife has had the 7 for almost a year now and we haven't had any issue.
Unfortunately battery life from 6 to 7 degraded, and the feedback I've heard has me hesitating on the 8, solely due to battery life reports

I have zero issues, love my pixel 8. Absolutely no bugs or battery issues. I use LTE instead of 5g.
