I've had this same 50L trashcan for 10-15years in a very busy family kitchen, and recommend.

It has held up extraordinary well to multiple kids growing up, mischievous dogs, cats, etc. The sliding lock at the top helps. It takes your "typical" draw string kitchen trash bags just fine. (I can't speak for the smaller one).

As someone else wrote, their dog would occasionally knock it over but with the lock, contents stay secure. I just dropped 2x brick-sized patio pavers in the bottom to give it a little more base weight and that fixed that problem for me over the years.

I've had this same 50L trashcan for 10-15years in a very busy family kitchen, and recommend.

It has held up extraordinary well to multiple kids growing up, mischievous dogs, cats, etc. The sliding lock at the top helps. It takes your "typical" draw string kitchen trash bags just fine. (I can't speak for the smaller one).

FWIW, this trashcan has lasted us easily twice as a long as a more expensive metal automatic trashcan we previously had.

For me, once the novelty of automatic wore off, the foot pedal on this proved much more reliable for effectively the same result - a lidded, hands free trashcan (which this one also locks).

Very good deal! My local Home Depot had in stock, but they were well hidden. Had to ask associate and they were super helpful. It's a really nice trash can. Step function works very smooth and it was already assembled!

Simple Human is a great company. I previously had their trash bins in my home. The step device that opens the lid broke. I through it away not realizing that simple human has replacement parts on their website.

My dog can get in these. They need to have a minimum of 3 locks to be dog proof.
