The comment after yours links to rtings, which evaluates all TVs as computer monitors. rtings is looking at measurable specs/features that are important with a computer monitor (e.g. input lag/response time).
It's important to note that a 55" TV would be an absolutely enormous computer monitor. I had a 40" 4K TV that I used as a computer monitor for a while and that was pushing it, as far as size goes. That TV/monitor also was used to watch antenna TV (e.g. sports) and play console games. If you're just looking for a 4K monitor, you're better off looking for something smaller and designed for monitor use.
Depends on where you sit. I sit on a recliner so my eyes are 5' away from the 55" TV. I have used one of these for about 8 years and it works great I also have a 32" QHD monitor so I can have a video on while doing FB or whatever.
I have a two year old TLC more advanced model it works great as a monitor but also for Netflix and such.
Looking for a new TV, ours currently is a 55in Normal LCD 4k TV from LG. Would like to go 65 or 70ish. I know this isn't Mini LED but would this be.a big improvement in viewing angels and colors over our current tv?
Great TV for this price range! I have this TV, as well as a TCL QM8. The QM8 is a superior TV, but it should be as its another price class. Very happy with this TV, picked it up open box from BB for cheap and am very happy with it, no complaints so far.
I would get this TV if I hadn't bought the R646 in October. Great deal.

It would depend on how picky you are with colors and such. Perhaps if you really like good colors and a bright screen.
I bought a new one because of broken pixels. To tell the the truth it was not a huge improvement but in some ways it was nicer though I bought the one better than this. Blacks are more black for sure.
Man, I've been going nuts trying to find a 50" TCL Roku TV for $200 or under... I feel like we're getting close. I'd even jump on a 55" if I had to, just not sure if we have the space for it.
IF ANYONE sees a 50" for $200 or $189 or whatever... tag yer boy!

Really? Isn't the R646 quite a bit better than this Q6 ?
Good question. Yes R646 is a great TV and at $400 sale price it was a no-brainer. But I don't use 120hz (not a gamer), and while I would lose mini led/local dimming, given it's 2 years newer I suspect the q6 image quality for my purpose would be similar.

TCL changed their naming conventions in 2023 to match up better with competition
Class/Series - 4/5/6/7/8
Models - S4/S5/Q6/Q7/QM8
Prefixes -
S = Edge-lit, non-QLED
Q = QLED
QM = QLED with MiniLED
So this model Q6 sits in the middle of the lineup, QLED panel without MiniLED tech

6.9 - TV Shows
6.9 - Sports
7.9 - Video Games
7.2 - HDR Movies
8.0 - HDR Gaming
7.7 - PC Monitor
This Q6 is two steps below the flagship model in 2023.

Also, considering getting. Tcl 65 via target and having it shipped.
I live in the sticks, drive a tiny car, and best buy won't deliver without charging 200.00 for my area.
Anyone ever have a 65 inch tv shipped via Target?
Any issues?
How are returns handled in case it arrives damaged (I wouldn't be able to drive it to the store in my car - think Nissan Versa sized car)
Thanks
