Does this still play the same as the old system link on the 360? Like get a few xbox one consoles that have the game installed and you can do aLAN game? Or do you have to purchase xbox LIVE?

It was 10$ last year at Best Buy I think
So I actually have a few old disk copies of Halo 1 and 2 - if you load these into an Xbox one, does it automatically update with all the extra maps and stuff? I think Halo 2 had several multiplayer maps that came out later. Basically trying to see if I could get a LAN party with some pals with xbox ones, even if we didn't have xbox live.
thanks!
I tried this:
every controller needed an account so I made guest accounts.
each console needs a separate copy of the game
Just know MCC is not as polished as you'd expect for software that's so popular, so old, and has so much support staff. Halo 2 MCC checkpoints are totally bugged out on Gravemind unless you keep switching between graphics modes. And the last part of gravemind, the enemy factions are supposed to be busy fighting each other but in MCC they all target just the player. Hit detection is sketchy in some of the games and enemies will stop taking damage. From my experience the bugs and balance issues get worse after CE, with 2 and 4 being the worst. And 5 is not part of MCC but it's so bad it's like $6 on sale.
Don't even get me started on the bugs in infinite or the broken boss battles... but that's not part of MCC.
I'd definitely buy MCC again but I'd probably go for a series X since the series S has pretty nasty pop ins.
