I build a NAS/Media server in one of these and it's pretty decent. Only room for 3 HDDs stock, but I 3D printed an internal rack that attaches to a fan mount to hold extra drives.

In general, do micro ATX cases cost more than mid tower ATX cases?

Why would someone want to get a micro-sized case if a mid only cost a few dollars more? Isn't it easier to work inside of a mid?

Not really. I have the NR200P, and this has a huge advantage being able to put intake on front.
For some wired reason, CM decided to go with all solid front on NR200P.
Unfortunately, this one is 0,5 inch higher than my cabinet and doesn't fit inside. Otherwise, I'd swap NR200P for this one in a heartbeat.
I am running 7800x3d and 7900xtx in the NR200P, and it's a little hot. It stays in the mid 80s while gaming.

Yes, I have done exactly this in this case with an RTX 4090 FE and a Mellanox ConnectX-3 SFP+ NIC on an Asus Prime Z790M motherboard. Even fits two 25mm-thick intake fans at the bottom, below the single-slot NIC.

The bigger issue isn't the case, but whether your microATX motherboard has enough space between the top and bottom PCIe slots. On some boards the top slot is below the line of the motherboard screw holes; a 3-slot GPU and NIC won't fit in that case.

I recently bought an ASUS AP201 barebones kit (Includes case, PSU, and motherboard) and am extremely pleased with it. Coming from ITX builds, this was a joy to build in. The case is more on the ATX side vs ITX but it's not too tall and still fits fine on my smaller desk. The mesh is somewhat transparent and allows me to see the glow of my AIO display and fans, but isn't glaring like it was with my glass panel cases. Airflow is fantastic and build quality is very good, all metal. Two thumbs up for this case, especially at this price!
