I know you can't go back in history, but I bought https://www.costco.com/lenovo-leg...54189.html for $2399 a few days ago. I'm sure there will be another sale like it soon enough at costco. It's even cheaper through https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...pro_7.html, but you don't get the second 1 TB SSD nor the Costco 90 return policy. from reviews I read, the lenovo with the 4080 runs as fast as many with a 4090 in many of the tests. The machines that out tested the Lenovo were several hundred dollars more.

Can you show me a better deal? Seems like a lot of the screens are 300 nits. That isn't particularly true important to me as I'll be using it with a nice external monitor most of the time. I like that this one has an extra slot for a second SSD.

So, that lonovo legion has similar specs to this hp omen. You seem excited to have it for $400 more than this deal. What is better about that Lenovo? Is it build quality? Screen? I'm new to this. Mostly will be using mine with external monitor or PCvr. 2 hmdi ports for multiple monitors setup would be a nice feature though.

Do you think the Lenovo is alot nicer than the HP omen? Specs don't seem that different.

Look at the reviews. 3.1 rating on the HP and a 4.6 rating on the lenovo. Yes, it is nicer. It's not me saying it, it's Costco's customers. Off the top, I noticed:
The screen is 165hz 300 nits on the HP vs 240hz 500 nits on the Lenovo.
The screen is larger on the HP.
The lenovo at costco has an extra 1 tb ssd.
I've had my last lenovo laptop for over 10 years. To me, the build quality is better on the Lenovo vs HP. I think of it as a luxury car vs normal. They both may have nearly the same features, but there is a difference.

this is crap deal keep looking at best buy for flash sales even buy open box BUT a LCD with only 300 nits is dark and is a budget screen! You want at least 500nit sand many arte 1000nits .. Do Not pul the trigger at 2000.00 + tax you will regret it

I'm waiting based on your suggestion. I mostly will be using for VR or with an external screen and this as a secondary screen. What do you think the best sub 2k 4080 laptop deal is? Lenovo or Alienware or something else?
