My Frigidaire looks exactly like this. Probably the same manufacturer. FYI this does not keep the ice frozen. The ice melts to the bottom of the machine then it uses it again to make ice. Non issue for events but I wouldn't recommend as a continuous use allowance.

My $95 ice maker from Amazon crapped out after exactly 12.5 months... This is about the most I would invest in a second one. .

who hurt you? you have little faith in modern technology.
Ive been using this type of ice machine for maybe three years and leave it on throughout the day. The only problem I've had with it is the tray keeps breaking. Ive gone through three or four of em because of that.
I now have Frigidaire Nugget Ice Maker so it doesn't have that plastic tray that scoops out the ice from the top.

Exactly. I have this model of ice maker because I have a Samsung fridge. This thing gets my freezer's ice tray filled faster than the freezer drops 2-3 trays of ice. The Samsung fridge was a big mistake, but this little ice maker has at least made my family of 5 not need to ration ice. This is a solid purchase at twice the price if you need an extra ice maker. $50 makes me want to tell my friends about the deal.
