And likely ridgid 18v batteries will not fit correctly. Returned my trimmer blower set for that reason. Trimmer fit all 18v ridgid. Blower only fit 2 of 8 ridgid 18v batteries.

I was worried about the battery issue but the trimmer/blower kit version fit all of my batteries. I think the oldest is maybe 5 years old (a 4ah, and 2 2ah) as well as my newest 4ah and 6ah batteries. I wonder what happened with ridgid qc for this to only work for some products.
I basically need it for blowing off my deck and a flagstone patio. 10 minutes of run time should be plenty. If I needed more than that I would have got an 80v version. I almost got the tiny Ridgid shop blower but didn't think that had enough oomph. On the other hand, this thing is HUGE. It doesn't weigh a lot but it's big -- like the same size as my in-laws 80v Ego. Still, it's going to be way better than my current solution (dragging my clunky old shop vac around on the "blow" setting).

Interesting. Glad to hear it wasn't just me.
Did you try contacting Ridgid first? I think that will be my plan before returning. Maybe they'll swap out my batteries. They really emphasize how the batteries work for ALL tools...so I feel this is a major screw up for them.
I had the combo deal. If battery didn't fit the blower like mine did, I forced the 18v battery in for the first time and then it will fit any rigid battery afterwards.

I ended up just returning to home depot. I left a bad review stating the battery issue on the combo item's page. I saw other reviews with same issues prior to my review as well. But maybe as fairpolice says try forcing it on and it could fix yours too?

Mine was the same. It wouldnt fit right but if you actually look at it the blower, the two ears on the blower is just a bit narrower than the battery at the opening. Give the battery a bit of a wack on the back and it fits fine. After a bit of wearing in it will be ok.

My local Home Depot (17601) showed 5 on brickseek. In store they were on the upper shelves against the wall near the floor model trimmers and blowers. I had to get a worker to move and use there wheelie stair ladder to get one down. Looked like they had 5 boxes, bought my 1 and brickseek updated to 4. So seems to be working.
I bought the trimmer a few weeks ago in the bundle "return the battery kit" hack. Now I have both the trimmer and the blower for less than retail price of single one.

Actually, I thought the same thing initially - but it is a first time battery issue only. If you give it a solid rap, it fits fine. And fine every time after that. Guessing there was some injection mold debris that needed to be pushed out of the way.
EDIT: I'll add, I tried several year old batteries, Octane batteries, standard batteries, and high output batteries. They all inserted as smoothly as in any other Rigid tool… after that initial successful attempt. Did notice there appears to be some electrical grease on the blower battery contacts - not sure if that is a weather protection attempt or an aid to the initial insertion.

When I was looking at HD stores for the $99 blower + grass trimmer + 4.0Ahr battery kit deal (found one!), at one store I saw a couple of these blower only boxes up high. The HD page said the store did not have any but showed the $189 price. A HD employee looked up the skew on their store system and said they had four in stock at this same $79 price.
Perhaps pre-stocking for a Spring deal, not yet advertised?

It runs for 12 minutes, but can lift the wet leaves and other debries easily.
I can see the difference from my old blower, I would have saved hundreds of hours.
I also tried cleaning the gutters and it was a breeze, cleaned gutters to the metal.

or you're saying it is more limited than a comparable 130mph and/or 510cfm blower?

I need trimmer and blower both, what would be the best option for me.
I think I saw Ryobi for sale for both for around $129, what's would be the best deal - first time will be cutting grass - help here, thanks.
