It looks like the list of participating retailers has been drastically reduced — Home Depot / Advance Auto / Autozone / Oreilly (to name a few I can recall) are now all INELIGIBLE!
Per the fine print:

Buyer beware, pennzoil's track record with these rebates is on the decline.

I've been waiting YEARS for that study that says changing oil at the recommended intervals damages the engine.

At the 12:50 mark you'll see the gumming/deposits on the piston rings that cause extra wear on the cylinder walls. That decreases mpg, hp, and increases oil burnoff. Engine will still run though.

There are many Toyota owners (google search Toyota forums) who religiously serviced their vehicles at dealership only to discover that their cars randomly shut down due to the lack of oil. The official line from Toyota is it's normal to burn 1 quart oil per 1200 miles. At that burn rate, the catalytic converter would be toast before 100K miles. That's not a problem if you live in TN (no emission check). If Toyota's quality control is so good, then why do some well maintained engines with less than 150K miles burn a lot of oil? The bean counter would love to sell a new car after warranty expiration.
Prior to 2000, very few Toyotas would exhibit high oil consumption, unless the engine has more than 250K miles. These engines see a regular diet of conventional 5W-30 to 10W-40 oil every 3000 to 5000 miles. The same Toyota engine that you buy today outside the US will specify 20W-50 (+20F ambient) since oil with higher viscosity may be better suited at highway speed and extreme load conditions! Most 20W-50 sold outside the US are el cheapo conventional petroleum base.
People also claim that their engine does not burn oil, even after 250K miles. If that was true, there would be zero wear at the valve guides, piston rings, and cylinder walls. Additionally, to achieve zero oil consumption, the oil control rings must completely remove all the oil from the cylinder wall prior to combustion. ALL 4-stroke internal combustion engines burn oil, regardless of mileage.
I bought a used 1977 Toyota Celica with 22R engine. Did complete engine tear down at +340K mile for educational purpose. Saw some scoring at cylinder 1 + 4 walls due to thermal effect, but no worn spot in the cylinder bores because of the still robust oil control rings.

How often do you have to change Pennzoil synthetic oil?
Changing your motor oil has become less frequent as engine technology has become more advanced and the use of synthetic motor oils are able to better protect engines and allow for longer oil drain intervals; with some oil drain intervals are now as high as 20,000 miles or a year between changes for some newer vehicles.
32 shipped for 10 qts of 0w20? Great deal.
Am I probably losing out on a few bucks? Sure. But I don't have to risk that they might reject my rebate ordeal with the hassle of submitting receipts.
Now if I didn't have a Costco membership already, I'd be all over this!
