Might be s potato question, but why not just use a drill with polisher attachment?
Depends on what you're polishing, but if you're working on cars/boats, you'll likely want a polisher with dual action/random orbit to avoid swirl marks.

Only wish they made a 2-3" pad version! For now using my my Flex for smaller jobs.
