I bought the G14 for 829 OB, and this is 1200 before tax for a 4060. The price gap is too massive for me.
Design wise I prefer the white G14. Maybe I'm just bored of dark laptops lol.
If you want a laptop that looks and feels like a business laptop and has a gorgeous OLED display, this.
But a few more notes: I tested both out and the G14 deal was killed for me because it only has 1 m.2 slot for storage, and the charging port placement was annoying. There's reports of QC issues with the trackpad and display being hit or miss with backlight bleed and bad IPS glow. Also, I'm not a fan of the hinge design of any Asus that isn't a 2-in-1. The display of the G14 felt too small, and even though this is only .5 inches larger, I think because the OLED is so clear and easy to read, it doesn't feel as small. The G14 does have a nice matte display and this one is glossy so some might experience glare issues - I haven't really but I only use my laptop indoors.
As far as 7840HS vs 7940HS - I'm not sure a typical user will actually see a difference.
(Full disclosure: I paid $1009.00 for my Slim 5 OLED Open Box Excellent at Best Buy. It looked brand new and only had 7 hours on it when I checked HWinfo. I looked at a G14 Open Box "Good" for $850 but it looked dirty and had a loose screw in the bottom and the casing wasn't fully closed, so someone had opened the unit up for some reason. I'd hate to see what an OB "fair" condition unit for $829 would have looked like based on the Good condition unit. But if you only care about the bottom dollar, that price is a bargain compared to this $1200 price point.)

So far, I'm very impressed. Installing a 2nd m.2 SSD was easy, and full gen 4 speeds are as they should be on both the factory 512 drive and the 2TB I added.
The 4060 is fast and smooth, and 120hz OLED is absolutely glorious. Port selection is plentiful, and it has a full size SD card, which is great for my photography projects.
It's fairly thin and very light for the performance inside and the build quality. The touchpad is significantly better than the one on my Zephyrus G15. First thing I noticed. The keyboard is good, but I still haven't typed on it quite as much as I generally do before making a conclusion. So far so good.
The bad? It strangely doesn't have USB 4. Not a deal breaker, but still not ideal. Strange on a laptop so new.
The second issue that is driving me nuts - you have to RESTART the laptop to switch between dGPU and iGPU modes. Looks like you can run in hybrid, but that doesn't guarantee peak performance 100% of the time, nor does it guarantee peak battery life 100% of the time. It's stupid that you have to restart to change these things.
My 3 year old Zephyrus with an AMD CPU and an nvidia GPU didn't have to do this. If you were plugged into the factory power adapter, you hit the turbo button and could just go nuts gaming. If not, you picked "silent" + battery saver and it would go into low power mode. Sometimes you'd have to manually kill some stuff to maximize battery life, but rarely had to restart the PC.
So dear Legion, I ask ... WHY?!? Lol.
That said, battery life is excellent so far in iGPU mode. I can legit get a workday out of it, browsing, using word and PowerPoint, etc.
Legion has figured out the OLED, which is amazing. My HP Spectre with the OLED was an absolute poop biscuit in battery life.
Checked out the Lenovo OLED on display as well. Felt cheap and flimsy to me.
