Agreed. The intel integrated in this is a poor performer by comparison and for this price you can get an open box rog ally or legion go if you're looking for mobile gaming. If you're looking at this as a surface competitor for productivity it has a higher power draw and lower battery life. Maybe if you were pairing it with one of ASUS overpriced eGPUs I could see an argument for desktop replacement at home, tablet on the go but only because of the better bandwidth of the mobile xg connector over the bandwidth of thunderbolt 4. Otherwise you could do the same thing with a thunderbolt eGPU and not be locked into ASUSs proprietary port.

Open box is generally considered "new" but in an....open....box. So new however not sealed.

A few examples of when something might be in an open box yet be unused (aka new):
-required an update or something repaired / replaced after shipping to retail distribution.
-was part of / included in a bundle but later broken apart so it is no longer in a sealed package, or accessories were removed (like expired digital codes)
-item was originally shipped to another region (or retailer) with non-standardized packaging
