I was looking for a video doorbell recently and this was one of the shortlisted one but I read the reviews that even if you wire it, it still needs batteries. I don't understand the logic but I went with reolink 4K doorbell wired for $75. So much better. You can add SD Card, you can do rtsp and also connect to your Synology NAS and record 24*7 with Surveillance Station app. So far I am really happy. No subscription and works great. Install was easy too.

it needs to be said that there blink doorbells have a very finicky latch at the bottom that you should use a flat tool to open or the weak latch will break.

the pro is that with the blink module you can put an sdcard in it and dont have to pay a subscription for the cloud for recordings, unlike ring.

Yes, unfortunately it doesn't get any help from the doorbell power. Batteries keep depleting in a month even though it is not a very busy neighborhood. I couldn't keep feeding it lithium batteries so opted for rechargables. Although they work, they always show low battery warning.

Yup. Rechargeable batteries are 1.2V vs 1.5V for the batteries this needs.

Should have bought Eufy. No cloud service required and easy rechargeable batteries.

I set up my system a month ago from the Costco deal. Works great. Insanely affordable. Sold the extra cameras for more than I paid for the kit.

I just need the doorbell now but it's not on sale on its own.

Not a fan of Blink in general due to clip length max of 30 seconds.

Is that true? If so, it's a deal breaker

I got eneloops in my Ring last year. They lasted over 3 months the first time and needed a charge once so far. On the back door, I bought a solar ring panel that has worked endlessly for about 4 months.
Heckuva lot cheaper than a subscription.

FWIW, I have Fiber Internet and the Sync is right next to my Eero mesh and it STILL takes like 30 seconds or more to get a picture from my phone when the doorbell is pressed. For retrieving video it takes almost a minute. It's not quick, but it's fair for security. Works great with Alexa as it can chime anywhere in the house when the doorbell is pressed, and my phone warns me if someone walks up to the door. Mount it carefully so that it doesn't include both a busy area and your immediate porch so you can tailor the alerts.

These don't even support showing you who's at the door automatically on your echo show. Wyze is better

No but by the time you get the live feed from the app whoever was at the door already left.
