I like your advice, except it is outdated. There are a new class of soldering irons that are revolutionary. I have been soldering for over 50 years, so I would not say that unless I meant it. I have a Pinecil and I highly recommend you try it. I have been using a Weller and Hakko otherwise for the last 50 years and completely moved over to the Pinecil.

I have a pinecil too and I recommend it. I use it over my Weller 99% of the time.

I don't have any experience with this particular model and it might be okay for light use. But generally speaking I recommend avoiding cheap soldering irons and just go for a Hakko or a Weller.

These are fine, not the best by any means, but will get any normal job accomplished. Perfect if you only do a few small repairs a year. If you're going to use daily spend some more. For $30 hard to beat

Is the Pinecil similar to the ts-100?

I have a good soldering iron. Would this be worth it and good for the rework function?

FYI if you see a higher price, the $29.99 is Prime members only

I just got a Pinecil today after seeing it recommended in another thread here. I am a first time solderer and just want to learn how to do some hobbyist stuff such as LEDs and some craft kits. Do you have any video/website recommendations on tips or taking care of the tool? Thanks in advance

Looks really close to this one, I think the $60 is probably pretty inflated

How is the hot air on this? Most hot air alone cost more than this combo, surely it can't be of any quality?
