Switch is really well reviewed. The price is only $10 off the usual MSRP though so unless you really need one, its just okay. Qnap was one of the first to offer an affordable consumer switch of this size and capabilities.

I bought a mini PC with a n100 CPU and 4 i226 2.5GB ports and installed OPNsense. My 2GB fiber benchmarks around 2.2 - 2.3 on my PC through a wired connection.

I have the SFP+ version, works great for a mini home network. This switch let me move all my drives out to a TrueNAS server in a different room so my desktop is now absolutely silent lol. And I still get local-like performance from the remote drives (up to ~1GB/s read/write).

Seems to be a better deal than the previous one at Amazon. They don't charge shipping or tax.

Bought a similar chinese knock-off from ali for $40. Its been rock solid for months. 280 MBps transfers every time, all the time.

What are you all using for a router? It seems that 2.5gb switches and modems are at a decent price point finally but the routers are still hard to find or really expensive.

I'm still on a edgerouterX and it's a little long in the tooth.

just like qnap's other hardware, you shouldn't trust it not to be hijacked in a New York minute. Their systems are ridiculously vulnerable.

It's an unmanaged switch. They have no security. Do you even know what these are used for?

Also, stop spending so much money on these switches. The $40-$60 Chinese knock-offs perform identically. I'm using two of them in my home network and they're perfect.

I use a Asus GT-AXE16000 with Merlin <- merlin makes it worth it tbh.. Has dual 10gb rj45 w a 2.5 gb "wan" but the 10gb port can also be used for WAN.

Be aware, the above only has single 10G, over SFP, not RJ45 like in the OP's QNAP. Also only 5 port, but I did see a 8 port available.

btw, for you computer wizards, I have a cheap switch from amazon($20), I just realized my smart garage door opener does not work with the switch. I had to directly connect it to the router in order for it to connect. Why is this? it's definitely not a bandwidth issue right?

I'm running the TRENDnet version of this, which I think might be very similar innards...that one is on sale for $134.99 from Amazon here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09LNLMH9Y

I don't dislike QNAP stuff, but the TRENDnet is $5 less expensive, and I have had a good experience with their hardware.

Model of your switch? Is it a smart switch that requires configuration (i.e vlan).
