While it's a bundle that I don't think can be split to perform the HD "hack", that compact stand is built very solid and it's a hell of a lot more comfortable to work standing up than it is to place the miter saw on the floor assuming you don't already have some platform or stand to place it on. Considering Amazon's current low price of $486 for the saw itself, the stand would have to be less than $163 (lowest price on Amazon in the past 3 years is $170) to "beat" the bundle deal.
Then again, this bundle deal is only good for those looking to purchase both items to begin with.
