I'd probably hold out the next 2-3 months if your 6A is still in good condition.
AND if you have Capital One cc you can get 4% back when clicking on their link and then purchasing

If you have a 6a getting trade in for what you paid and more than you could sell it for is compelling but you could wait and get the same later. For this deal you have to add $175 - you can wait and use the money for the 8a.
8a likely will be a higher price, won't have -125 off but trades may be higher? 7a price/value will drop. It's all a bet to what will be a better deal, but IMHO better to wait for the new tech - even if you end up paying a little more. Jump a model for the upgrade will always be better. Already skipped 7a when it came out - now why buy late in the product cycle. Wait for the 8a.

My reasons for these thoughts are the phone values just don't hold up and its crazy to think people pay full price on Day 1. I traded in a P6a for $220 (now down to $200) and a 64GB P3 for $150 (now down to $120) during the December Google Store sale with discount codes. I bought two brand new Pixel 8 256GB for ~$400 each and they're probably only going to be worth $250 on trade-in as of this autumn 2024.
I just don't see how Google is going to turn this business model around until they make a phone that is as reliable, usable (boomer friendly), and most importantly POPULAR as the iPhone. Sad!
