I have a little over 65 hours on my champion 100520 unit and it's been great, but the 100520 is contract manufactured by Chongqing Rato for Champion. There's no reason to write off the Predator Gens just because they're made for and sold by HF. Chongqing Rato also make the Predator 8750W open frame inverter units for HF. The 8750s are the functionally identical, Champion has a longer initial warranty period, but with an HF extended warranty option you can essentially exchange the generator in store, rather than wait for a part from Champion and then pay someone to replace it or install it yourself.

I just bought the generator and did the plug and play Grenergy tri-fuel conversion on it. I ran into a video on YouTube and it seemed legit.

Thank you for the suggestion. I am considering the $879: 5000W https://www.harborfreight.com/gen...70143.html . The closest DuroMax seems to be the $1500 https://www.generatorfactoryoutle...-generator . Although I may be missing some substantial upgrade for the DuroMax for that price difference. Almost too many options as I keep going back and forth between brands.

Overpriced for what they are (generator)? Or, overpriced compared to competitors? If the latter, when you compare the Predator Super Quiet/Inverter to Honda's 7000iS Super Quiet/Inverter the price difference is huge ($3700 difference.) The two aren't exact apples/apples but close enough.
Compared to other brands? Maybe, I guess it depends on where you place Predator brand (and components) generators in relation to Tier-1, Tier-2, etc. Honda is top-tier (tier-1) for sure in this space (from build and quality standpoint.) Where Predator sits - I guess that's up for debate Wink

I don't own a Predator generator, but I have a hard time wrapping my brain around Harbor Freight carrying a high quality product vs. the competition.
Don't get me wrong, I buy plenty of tools from HF, but I'm used to getting tools where the quality doesn't need to be so high relative to the cost. These seem relatively pricey to me.
