I have a little over 65 hours on my champion 100520 unit and it's been great, but the 100520 is contract manufactured by Chongqing Rato for Champion. There's no reason to write off the Predator Gens just because they're made for and sold by HF. Chongqing Rato also make the Predator 8750W open frame inverter units for HF. The 8750s are the functionally identical, Champion has a longer initial warranty period, but with an HF extended warranty option you can essentially exchange the generator in store, rather than wait for a part from Champion and then pay someone to replace it or install it yourself.

Agreed. HF Hand tools are ok, but high-end items such as welding machines, generators, etc are overpriced with no added quality commensurate with the price.

These are way overpriced. Way better deals on Champions and Westinghouse generators on Amazon around spring and summer. Harbor Freight became the thing they competed against.

I've owned 2 of these predator generators, a 4000w and a 9975w. Both worked great. I use the bigger one for when the power goes out at the house. I have a plug installed from my panel box to run a cord to the generator.

I do agree the 2000W Predator at $599 is overpriced. That said - I'm not gonna drop $1k on a Honda 2000W for my needs...

I bought a refurbished 2000W Firman from their eBay store [ebay.com] for $200 and no issues so far. It kept my 2x fridges going during a recent power outage. I want to upgrade to the 7500W Tri-fuel and install an Interlock kit someday...keep the whole house online Big Grin
